About
My name is Nelson Zheng, a 22 year old part-time freelance Web Designer and full-time student pursuing a double degree in Photovoltaic and Solar Energy Engineering and Commerce at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
My fascination with the internet began with my very first PC, which came with a blistering 477MHz CPU, a whopping 256Mb of RAM and of course, a 56kbps modem. And ever since then, a time when Geocities websites were king, epileptic gifs were the norm and tabled web designs were everywhere, I have continuously been learning about the web. I have learnt languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript and Actionscript, as well as touching on Java, Python, Ruby on Rails and C. I’ve also worked with many popular CMS (content management systems) such as WordPress, Drupal and Magento.
When I’m not fiddling with the web, I am most likely crunching numbers for photovoltaic cells, figuring out how to reduce the world’s energy consumption or planning a start-up.
